Rotherham United Women Under-23s put in a five-star display to net a first win of the season.

Ruby Draper scored twice and there were goals for Jessie Broadhurst, Lyla Powell and Leila Salmon in a 5-0 victory over Oughtibridge at Swallownest Miners' Welfare.

Delighted Under-23s manager Alex Morrisroe said: "I thought it was a positive performance from the group.

"We controlled large parts of the game, created plenty of chances and limited the opposition to very few opportunities.

"After a couple of games where we felt our performances deserved more, it was good to see the players get the result today.

"At half-time we changed the shape to make the most of the extra player, and I thought the group adapted really well to that, scoring another three goals in the second half.

"There are still areas we can improve, particularly our decision-making and being more clinical in the final third. But five goals, a clean sheet and three points gives us something positive to build on going into next week."
