Rotherham United 1-1 Dunton & Broughton

Rotherham United Women suffered a setback in their quest for a top two finish on a frustrating afternoon in the wind and rain.

Dunton & Broughton were the visitors for a game on Sunday moved from Roundwood to Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park.

And what began promisingly for the Millers turned into a stalemate which sees them lose ground in their efforts to end the season ahead of Chesterfield and Ilkeston Town.

Delia Hurdiss continued her hot streak in front of goal, nipping in to open the scoring just after the half-hour mark.

But Dunton, who lost the return fixture at home 3-0, were no pushover and hit back through Lacey Shilcock before the break.

Despite their best efforts, Rotherham were unable to find a second breakthrough and the match ended all square.

The result leaves the Millers third behind runaway leaders Lincoln United and second-placed Chesterfield, who have games in hand.

Sunday sees Pete Jarvis’s side travelling east to take on struggling Grimsby Town, with kick off at the Oasis Academy at 2pm.
