Rotherham United Women’s class of 2026 had their moment in the spotlight at the end of season awards at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Players from the First Team and Under-21s gathered with family and friends, coaching staff and club officials for the annual salute to the Millers’ outstanding performers and most improved players.

The first award of the night was for the Under-21s Most Improved Player, and it was shared by Lucy Alcock and Chloe Bokwala.

Team-mate Emily Cooper was named Players’ Player of the Year, while Lyla Powell picked up the Supporters’ Player of the Year prize.

Mia Irving, who was unable to attend the ceremony, was selected as the Manager’s Player of the Year.

Midfielder Erren Davies was the first senior player to be recognised, collecting the First Team Players’ Player of the Year award from manager Craig Reading.

Fellow midfield dynamo Lily-May Jackson picked up the Young Player of the Year award, while defensive rock Freya Rattenbury was named Player of the Year.

The final honour of the night was the Clubwoman of the Year, which went to playmaker Caitlyn Douglas.

Fran/Francesca Ross, co-chair of Rotherham United Women, said: “I am incredibly proud of the commitment, dedication and passion shown by our players, coaches, staff, volunteers and parents throughout the season.

“Their collective efforts continue to drive the club forward and create an environment where both individuals and teams can thrive.”

Attention has now turned to the summer trials now underway at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park, overseen by Reading, Under-23s manager Alex Morrisroe and new Head of Football Ben Mawson.

Fran added: “I would like to acknowledge the impact Ben Mawson has already made within the club.

“His commitment to developing the women’s programme and his vision for the future are helping to build strong foundations for continued growth and success.

“On our trials days, we look forward to welcoming both returning and new players as we continue to strengthen the club and provide opportunities for talented footballers across the region.

“The future of Rotherham United Women is an exciting one.

“There is a clear ambition throughout the club, and I am proud to be part of a journey that will continue to develop opportunities for women and girls whilst building a sustainable and successful future for the team.”
