MATCH REPORT | Defeat for Millers in friendly at Barnsley Ladies

Rotherham United Women slipped to a narrow defeat in their final pre-season friendly.

Goals from Jessie Broadhurst – her fifth in as many games since signing in the close season – and Halima Essa (pictured shooting) saw the Millers go in level at half-time.

But despite a strong showing after the break, Pete Jarvis’s side couldn’t find a winner and it was Barnsley who edged the five-goal encounter.

The Millers have scored freely in pre-season, with 16 goals in five games but have failed to keep a clean sheet, a run they’ll be hoping to bring an end to next Sunday in their opening league game against Grimsby Town.
